Who This Session Is For

This session serves households that hold cryptocurrency in cold storage — hardware wallets, paper backups, or metal plates — and need a written continuity plan before a life event makes one necessary. Typical clients are couples in their forties or fifties with two or more storage locations and at least one family member who does not currently know where recovery materials are kept.

What Happens During the Visit

Your consultant arrives with blank planning templates and a structured interview guide. The session proceeds in four stages:

  1. Storage inventory — You describe each wallet and its associated backup method. We record location descriptors (room, container type, access method) without ever asking to see or photograph the seed phrase itself.

  2. Successor mapping — We identify who should receive access under which conditions: incapacity, death, or voluntary handover. Each successor receives a role label, not the phrase content.

  3. Gap analysis — We flag single points of failure: one person knowing all locations, backups stored together, or phrases held only in digital form.

  4. Record completion — You leave with a bound Household Location Index and a successor briefing outline ready for your attorney or trusted contact.

Preparation

Before the session, gather a list of your hardware wallet brands and approximate purchase dates. Identify which family members you want included in the successor map. Clear a private room where the conversation will not be overheard.
